SCOPE OF WORK: The Murfreesboro, TN Veterans Affairs Medical Center required a direct, yet secure, area to allow patients outdoor access for relaxation and meditation. The inpatient mental health courtyard included:
- Over-excavation due to unsuitable soils
- Grading, erosion control and reworking of storm water drainage
- Concrete installation, construction of retaining walls, ramps, and sidewalks
- Wrought iron railing and security fencing, security screens and lockable gates
- Brick walls with cast stone caps, and other various masonry
- Electrical and video tie-ins, and wheel chair lift installation
- Roofing, interior drywall, and door installation
Evergreen foliage and small landscaping boulders were added to temper the institutional environment. Paramount coordinated work with the medical center which remained occupied while construction took place.
